The Epic is Back - Moto Razr Foldable

The epic is back MOTOROLA RAZR foldable. Motorola has recently debuted its foldable phone on November 13th in Los Angeles. The design is mostly derived from the old MOTOROLA RAZR V3 which was the flagship of all phones back then.

One of the most successful mobile brands Motorola (short form: Moto) has been deteriorating in its market share since the release of its blockbuster MOTOROLA RAZR. Although, there was slight increase with moto's budget series G,X and Z it wasn't much of a matter. The new MOTOROLA RAZR is promising however, it is still unclear about practical usage and durability.

Build Dynamics:

First up, this is the "First Vertically Folding Smartphone". It has a small screen to check time and notifications when folded. It is much like AOD (always on display). Personally, the hinge mechanism feels much practically efficient and more promising. It is one of the thinnest phones (when unfolded) at 6.9 mm like MOTOROLA RAZR V3. It has the same dimensions (when unfolded 172 x 72 x 6.9 mm and when folded 94 x 72 x 14 mm) as MOTOROLA RAZR V3. Lastly, there is no headphone jack. It weighs about 205 grams.

The main display when unfolded is a 6.2 inch P-OLED (Plastic-OLED) at a resolution of 2142 x 876 pixels with an aspect ratio of 21:9.
The second display when folded up front is a 2.7 inch G-OLED(GLASS-OLED) at a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels with an aspect ratio of 4:3.
The primary screen has 70.2% screen to body ratio at 373 ppi.
Although, there is no gorilla Glass for main display while the secondary display comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset (10 nm) . It runs on Android pie out of the box. It comes only with one variant currently which has a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

It has two cameras in total.
One camera is up front just below the front screen this primary camera is a 16 MP with an aperture of f/1.7.
The selfie camera which is at the top in the notch when unfolded. Also, it is a 5 MP at f/2.0 aperture.
The primary camera can record videos up to 2160 @ 360 fps.
While the selfie camera can record videos up to 1080 @ 30 fps.

The main advantage with the primary camera is that it acts both as a rear camera when unfolded and a acts as selfie camera when folded.
Finally, it has a dual tone dual LED flash.

Additional Features:

A traditional fingerprint scanner is placed on the chin.Similar to most of the other flagships, it includes Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi.
It comes with TYPE-C connector with USB 3.1 support. Also, it includes all common sensors.

Battery :

The battery is split into two parts for folding and in total it is about 2510 mah Li-Po (lithium polymer). A "15W charger" is included in the box.

Extra Bites:

The main "pro" with this folding device is that there is no crease when unfolded. Additionally, the hinge mechanism feels the most durable and perfect till date. However, it's mid-range specs, small battery and basic camera makes it unsuitable for pro users.
Lastly, we can call, use Google Assistant, take instant selfies and some basic settings to toggle on/off from secondary display which is highly useful.
Finally, It is available in just one colour option NOIR BLACK and is priced at $1500 is US and around 1.08 lakh rupees in India.
